Product Marketing Engineer

What we do at Curity is complicated, and explaining it is hard. On the surface, it’s easy: we help our customers identify their users, so they can safely provide them with digital services. Peel away a few layers from that onion, and you’re quickly into some intense subjects. They’re important though, and people looking for software like ours know that. They just need help understanding how we can make it easier for them to overcome the complexity that they’re dealing with by isolating it within our software product.

Your Role

This is where you come in: We can’t remain at that superficial level or gloss over the details. Our customers and prospects need solid, accurate answers - not buzzwords. This actionable information might come in the way of you:

  • Authoring a whitepaper
  • Coding and releasing an open source code sample
  • Explaining a product feature in a YouTube video
  • Sharing links to pertinent info on social media
  • Writing an article explaining an architectural pattern
  • Performing a webinar with a partner, someone from the engineering team, or solo
  • Holding a conference presentation
  • Answering a question on Stack Overflow (SO)
  • Or many other forms limited only by our imaginations

The point is that our customers need technical details that are presented in a clear, concise and understandable manner. This will require your engineering abilities while also drawing on your marketing prowess. Your programming skills will be as - if not more - important in this role as your communication abilities and your desire to pass on what you know. We also expect you to hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science (CS) or software engineering or comparable.

Helping Our Customers

This is a beloved role by our customers because they greatly value your knowledge and the best practices you exemplify in your work. Continually interacting with them is always possible in this position, and may come during a conference, on a pre- or post-sales call, when answering their questions during a webinar, or many other occasions. This will give you a lot of insights that you will feed back into product management and the development team, who you will always have access to. In fact, the CTO, who sets the technical direction for Curity, will be your boss, giving you a direct line to influence the product (and thus the company).

You won’t be floating off by yourself either. We have a great tiger team of experts that meet daily and are in constant contact. You will get feedback from them on your work, so that you can improve it before it’s published. You will also need to help them, and share your great ideas on Slack, Zoom calls, and in person during regular team meetups. In between through, you’ll be working remote if you don’t live in Stockholm. In such a case, it’ll be important that remote work energizes you and you can remain productive from a distance.
