New Release: Curity Identity Server 9.6
We're excited to share that a new version of the Curity Identity Server is now available! This minor release introduces a range of new features and improvements.
Here are some of the highlights:
Automatic Credential Migration and Re-Hashing During Authentication
In this release, migrating credentials during authentication from one datastore to another is as simple as a few configuration settings. This new capability includes migrating from credentials exposed via an API to ones stored in a database or vice versa. When combined with the credential verification procedures, the identity server now provides comprehensive support for credential migration.
Credential re-hashing was also added for the use cases where a previously-used hashing algorithm has become outdated and a new one is needed. Now, the credential can be re-hashed on the fly when the user authenticates, creating a zero-impact setup for credential management.
Credential Policies for DynamoDB
In 9.6, we have also added the credential policies to the DynamoDB datasource, so that the same mechanisms used on JDBC now work with that type of backend. Credential policies add more than just password policies for setting passwords - it ensures that the account is kept safe throughout its lifetime.

The 9.7 train will leave the station on December 16.
