Interview with Travis Spencer on API Security, AI and Decentralized Identity
Curity's CEO, Travis Spencer, recently sat down with the SafetyDetectives team to discuss ways to improve the overall security of digital services and the latest API security trends.
The two upcoming trends, according to Travis, that have the potential to transform society are the security implications of AI and the emergence of decentralized identity. He expresses hope that AI can become a helpful aid, but this can only happen by establishing needed transparency, control, and regulations.
On decentralized identity he says:
Currently, digital identity is primarily “federated”. In this, large organizations create databases of user accounts, and others connect to those silos to determine who a user is. Decentralized identity provides a better alternative where the issuer of the identity is not privy to the places where that identity data (a “credential”) is used. This boosts privacy while simultaneously reducing the amount of digital identity data the receiver must be responsible for.
