Authentication as a Hypermedia API
For many years, user authentication has been predominantly represented by password protection. However, as computing power increased and attacks became more sophisticated, authentication started to involve combinations of several methods called Multi-Factor Authentication. Now, with the rise of mobile and web applications and services, user authentication is challenged again. Developers need both secure and user-friendly browser-less solutions.
In a recent blog post on Nordic APIs, Curity’s Jacob Ideskog outlines why the Hypermedia Authentication API may be the holy grail mobile and web developers have been asking for. Ideskog continues to say he believes that a standard Hypermedia Authentication API is the future of mobile and web authentication.
