Built-in Monitoring

The Curity Identity Server has a built-in resource monitor which can be used to obtain basic performance metrics about each Server node in a cluster.

Usage#

In the System Overview page in the Admin UI, you can see each Server node:

Runtime Deployments
Runtime Deployments. (Admin UI version: 10.6)

Next to the node ID, TestServer1-cdID0Ezu in this case, there’s a question mark. By clicking on the question mark, some basic information about the node is shown. There is also a button titled Metrics which can be clicked on to show some information the node’s current resource usage:

Runtime Node Metrics
Runtime Node Metrics. (Admin UI version: 10.6)

This can be used to keep an eye on nodes’ resource usage without the need for complex monitoring solutions.

It is still advisable to set up a system that can keep track of resource usage over time and send notifications in case of abnormal activity, of course. The built-in Monitoring tool, however, can be handy on simple deployments or while the more complex system is not available for any reason.
